Architecture
Buildings are permanent until they are not. Architecture photography is the practice of catching structure at the moment light makes it something other than stone, steel, and glass.
The Approach
Geometry
Against Sky.
What interests me about architecture is not the building itself but the relationship between the building and everything around it — the angle of light at a specific hour, the way a facade reads against an overcast sky versus a clear one, the shadow geometry that only exists for twenty minutes in the afternoon.
This work requires patience and planning in equal measure. You have to know when to show up. And then you have to wait for the building to cooperate, which it does on its own schedule.
The images in this series are less about documenting spaces and more about the conversation between structure and light that most people walk past without noticing.
