Street
The city is always performing. Street photography is the act of watching without directing — standing in the right place long enough for something true to happen, then not missing it.
The Approach
The Decisive
Instant.
Street work is built on tension — between the photographer and the crowd, between stillness and motion, between what is about to happen and what already has. The camera does not create that tension. It records it.
What draws me to this genre is the lack of control. You cannot ask the light to hold. You cannot ask the stranger to stay. You show up, you read the scene, and you either catch it or you do not. That constraint produces a kind of honesty that staged work rarely achieves.
These images were made in ordinary places during ordinary hours. Nothing about the circumstances was exceptional. That is the point.
