Landscape
The land does not perform for the camera. Landscape photography is an act of patience — returning to the same place until it decides to reveal something that was always there.
The Approach
Patient.
Unhurried.
Indifferent.
Landscape photography teaches you that the land does not care whether you showed up. The light changes on its own schedule. The weather does not negotiate. All you can do is be there, be ready, and understand that the frame you envisioned at home may not be the frame that exists when you arrive.
The images I find most compelling are not the ones where everything aligned on the first visit. They are the ones that required coming back — in different seasons, at different hours — until the place showed a side of itself I had not yet seen.
This series spans multiple locations and multiple years. Some images were made in ten seconds. Some took months to get. The land does not keep track of either.
